INTERNATIONAL TANGIER is an athletic meeting which will give Tangier a manifestation of world level and to make little by little one of most important meetings of the global circuit.
With the help and support of all the vital forces of Tangier, elected officials, the Wilaya, the prefecture of the region, with the help and support of national and international sports organisations and of course the contribution of sponsors and media, the organizing committee will cross year after year, all regulatory and technical steps so that eventually the meeting could take place in the IAAF Grand Prize and why not include a day in the IAAF Golden League.
In the meantime, the hope is great to see INTERNATIONAL TANGIER merit showing on the schedule of the African Athletics Confederation from next season, to climb the different levels step by step and participate with confidence, determination and pride the growth of African athletics.
Today Tangier has only one racetrack of six lanes but having an eight-lane track to complete the work of the new stadium with a capacity of optimal spectators consolidate precisely this achievable ambition.
The committee undertakes to respect the rules of the IAAF, the FRMA and its Regional League but also to offer sponsors a platform of the most modern and professional so that all stakeholders can find themselves, that spectators enjoy a high level of performance and that athletes can have the best conditions and motivation necessary and legitimate to express their talent.
For this first edition it is scheduled 14 races with a few flagship events including a 1500m, to remind us of these historic moments that we all lived with this ordeal. More than 200 athletes from over twenty countries will be invited to take part in the meeting which will take place since its first edition at a very high level.
